Husqvarna Lawn Mowers

Husqvarna Lawn Mowers are produced by a well respected company with many years of manufacturing experience which began over 300 years ago in the year 1689, in Sweden.

Husqvarna are one of the world’s leaders in producing lawn mowers as well as a range of other outdoor power equipment including chainsaws and blowers, and the majority of their product development is done in consultation with the professionals who use their products. What this means is that careful attention is paid to the design and operating performance of every tool they make so as to ensure it meets the needs and demands of their eventual users.

Husqvarna's Lawn Mowers are available in an extensive range to suit both the needs of the homeowner and of the professional and to cater to a wide budget range. There are four main types of mowers sold by the company, and these are: Lawn mowers, Robotic Mowers, Tractors and Zero-Turn Mowers. For this article, we’ll discuss the options available for the traditional type of Husqvarna Lawn Mowers – the walk-behinds.

Husqvarna Walk-behind Lawn Mowers

All of Husqvarna's Lawn Mowers come with a 3-in-1 bagging system, side discharge or mulching capabilities so that you can choose which option is best for your needs.

For homeowners, there are five different mowers, based either on a Honda or a Briggs and Stratton engine and you have the choice of either a push type or a self-propelled, which they have branded as ‘AutoWalk’. All five of these mowers have a 21” cutting width, though the minimum and maximum cutting height is variable over the five. Engine sizes start from a useful 5.5hp up to a powerful 7hp. If you don’t enjoy priming or choking your Husqvarna Lawn Mower before using it, go for the 7021RS. This features the innovative Briggs and Stratton 700 Series DOV Engine with ‘ReadyStart’, an automatic choke system.

For commercial users there are even more Husqvarna Mowers to choose from. There are 4 styles of mowers: 21 inch Walks, Gear Drive Walks, Hydro-Drive Walks with Fixed Decks and Hydro-Drive Walks with Floating Decks.

The three 21” Walks are all powered by 6hp Kawasaki engines, and the main apparent difference between the three is their overall weight and slight differences in productivity.

Gear Drive Walks are far more powerful and feature either a Kawasaki or a Kohler engine of 13hp or 15hp. Cutting widths range from 32” to 48”. The 32” is capable of cutting 1.6 acres in an hour, whilst the 48” cuts an impressive 2.4 acres an hour.

The Hydro-Drive Walks with Fixed Deck come in two models, either a 15hp with 36” cutting width or 17hp with 48” cutting width, whilst there are three Floating deck models ranging from a 17hp with 48” cutting width to a powerful 21hp with 52” cutting width. This is a great mower for professionals who are looking for great speed and productivity as this top model can cut up to 3 acres an hour.

Husqvarna lawn mowers are worth considering even if you feel that they are a little on the expensive side for your budget, as the company often has financing deals on, which means a purchase could be within your reach!
