Metal Storage Shed
A Metal storage shed is a nice addition to a gardener’s lifestyle. Where do you keep your tools for garden care and lawn maintenance? Your answer will gve you an insight into how much care you give your garden tools. Remember that garden tools when cared for properly could last a lifetime. And proper care definitely involves storage.
A metal storage shed is obviously sturdier than a wooden or plastic one. The major issues are rust, bending and electro conductivity. Aluminum is a great material for a metal storage shed, as it doesn’t rust. Plastic sheds are more durable though more costly and heavier. Steel is heaviest, though, a lot more expensive, as it’s probably coated in an aluminum sheet.
To solve the issue of rust, you could simply paint it but make sure you use rust proof paint. Most metal sheds are rust proofed, but this is still based on the paint or other liquid coatings along the external surface of the metal. After a few years, it’s time to repaint that shed and get it water and rust proofed again!
Like a workbench, the metal storage shed should house all your tools and gardening apparatuses in an orderly and safe manner. Be wary of hanging rakes or heavy shovels above. You may consider parking a lawnmower or gasoline canisters (if gasoline is a requirement) in the shed, but be wary of stuffy fumes. Same goes with fertilizer and other minerals used to nourish the earth. And always lock the shed! You definitely don’t want kids, pets or stray animals wandering in.
A good metal storage shed is a good small outdoor building for the gardener who likes to keep his tools in a safe, orderly fashion.
