Wood Storage Shed
A Wood storage shed is ideal for the seasoned lumberman, or, those with wood
burning stoves and natural fireplaces. How else do you expect to store your
firewood during the winter?
It is a great addition to the cottage, the basement wood burning stove, or just to keep some flammable fuel logs handy. They come in a variety of sizes and shapes, and some come pre-built. It’s a nice simple place
to hold wood!
Indoor, outdoor, a wood storage shed should be simple, out of the
way, and not too cumbersome to put together.
You could go all out and get one with polka dots and bright yellow ribbons. But I doubt if you'll like the look. Unless you’re accustomed to building such things as mini-putt golf courses, the idea is to step away from the typical wooden outhouse design found in cottages.
Find a spot to either place or build a wood storage shed. Where’s a good place?
Not too close to the place of burning, as you don’t want to start a fire hazard.
Measure the distance sparks can fly, and what you feel is comfortable, without
being too far out of the way.
This is assuming you want to burn the wood. What kind of wood? Is it wood for
kindling, or wood for cooking? Chestnut and cherry make great wood chips for
smoking foods. Is it wood for carving? You’d have a lot of stumps and heavy wood
types for your artistic works.
Wood storage shed is a simple building to place your wood into, and makes for a
much more neat piece of land. Store your wood, today (in a wood storage shed,
that is.)
